Product governance

CFC seeks to place not only the fair treatment of customers but also good customer outcomes at the heart of its business in accordance with the FCA’s Consumer Duty and Product Governance requirements (PROD 4).

As an FCA-regulated business that underwrites on behalf of Lloyd’s and company market providers, CFC has a robust product governance framework in place and established processes that formalise the approval of new product developments and oversee changes to existing products in line with regulatory requirements.

In our role as product co-manufacturer we undertake thorough and flexible product testing before product launches, and monitor key product value metrics to ensure our products continue to deliver value to our customers at every stage of the product lifecycle.

We want to help you fulfil your role as product distributor of CFC products, to ensure they meet your customer’s needs. As such, we carefully consider the target market for each of our products, alongside key features or limitations which would make a product suitable or unsuitable for particular customer groups.

At the links below, you can find information for each of CFC products summarising:

  • The target market
  • Key feature and benefits
  • Key exclusions, or coverage limitations
  • Product suitability, alongside information about groups of customers a product is clearly not suitable for

Additional product information is also available to you in the form of product guides, articles, and case studies – all of which can be found under the Resources section of CFC’s website. We are committed to ensuring that our products can be explained and understood in different formats, so please reach out if you would like any additional information or if you would like to offer us feedback in relation to any of our product offerings.
